If you are the slightest bit curious about who I am, I will not keep myself from you in Gossip-Girl-like anonymity. My name is Katie, and I am a first year student in the Global Finance, Trade and Economic Integration (GFTEI) program at the Josef Korbel School of International Studies. Born and raised in Ohio, I moved to Denver following my undergraduate career at Miami of Ohio. It is beautiful here, and I love it.
“If Nothing Else” is inspired by the early experiences that I have had at Korbel, and has begun largely on a whim. As such, “If Nothing Else” will most likely continue to be largely whimsical.
While I do use the royal “we” in the majority of my writing, I do not have any connections to royalty (nor any delusions of graduer). Instead, the preferred term “we” feels more impersonal; I would rather keep “If Nothing Else” focused on the environment, rather than on the individual writing about it. Consequently, dear reader, you will read more about what I see and who I meet than who I am or what I’ve seen before. My intent is to focus on the new and exciting life I’ve begun here, and I invite you (as part of an affectionate, un-royal, self-deprecating plural first-person pronoun: “we”) to experience it, too.
To keep this short– you’re as much the narrator as I am, and from now on I will use the present tense for my entries. As with any collaborative experience, if you’d like to know someone or something better, write a comment about it. Shall we proceed?
